Established in 1987, VDC Trading is now one the most iconic names in the pro-audio market.  The business developed an enviable reputation for its audio and AV/IT live sound cable builds and installs; bespoke solutions for complex cabling problems; and for being the sole distributor of the legendary Van Damme cable range in the UK, popular with backline techs the world over.

Milestone over the years have included:

• First ever equipment sale to of 38 microphone stands to Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox’s Church Studios in Crouch End in 1987
• A strong partnership with Abbey Road Studios – the relationship dates back to 1988 and VDC has been the heart of several refits.  Now every single studio has Van Damme cable in it.  Recently it has also taken delivery of 21 Purple Patchbays
• Extensive use of Van Damme on Coldplay’s world tour for front of house, monitors and band backline.
• The supply of cable for Arsenal’s new Emirates Stadium, The Bank of America and The HSBC Building Canary Wharf
• The introduction of Marine Grade cable series for superyachts installations starting with Paul Allen’s 416ft MY Octopus.
• Van Damme cable used up and down the Mall for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and for the opening and closing ceremonies at London 2012 Olympics.
• Van Damme multicore cabling infrastructure supplied for The Sanctuary Recording Studio in the Bahamas
• The development of a network of over 50 distributors coverall all major geographies
• Strong relationships with leading complementary brands such as DiGiCo, Paul Reed Smith and Allen & Heath who include Van Damme Cables in the sale of their products

VDC recently moved from its site in Kings Cross to a newly refurbished HQ in Tufnell Park which includes custom-designed office space and purpose-built warehousing, providing a solid platform for future growth.  In conjunction with this move, VDC also acquired a large satellite warehouse in Hampshire to house non-urgent cable stock.
