VDC have a rich pedigree of providing cables to many bands and this is no exception. Jamie XX have had cables from VDC before, and it is the outstanding build quality, materials and technical support throughout that makes our customers come back again and again. Having had cables from us on their previous tour, supporting “In Colour” in 2015, Jamie XX’s team - particular their backline tech - were insistent that Van Damme cable was used again.
VDC is to make over 10 x 8 way, 5 x 12 way and 5 x 16 way looms using Black Series Tour grade multicore cable, which is the brand’s flagship tour ready cable. This ensures both the best possible audio fidelity as well as unbeatable toughness to withstand the rigours of the tour environment. Many of VDC’s cables are known in the industry for going on tour and coming back in impeccable condition, despite often being mishandled a lot!
As well, over 200 mic cables using classic tour grade mic in various lengths were specified, along with labelling under heatshrink to denote length for easier management. Along with this, 2x2.5mm tour grade speaker terminated in NL4s was specified, as well as 12G, 4k ready coax.
VDC were able to meet all demands and supplied the new ultra-flexible, extended distance RG6 Coax terminated in Neutrik UHD BNCS - the ultimate in signal and handling. All of this is done amidst massive demand at VDC, with the return of festivals and gigs; the manufacturing is to be completed in record time to ensure that the cables are ready for when they are needed.
Jamie XX has confirmed that his new album will be out summer 2021 so the tour no doubt will be in support of this. Either way, it is a welcome return to providing these kind of cables that Van Damme and VDC thrive on. We are delighted to be involved supporting Jamie XX and a whole host of other artists as they get back to some form of pre-pandemic normalcy.
