VDC Appoints new Sales and Export Directors
Niall Holden, CEO, is pleased to announce the appointment of Cain Cookson (left) and Adam Jafrabadi (right) as Sales Director and Export Director of VDC Trading respectively, effective January 2019.
Cain and Adam’s addition to the board of directors comes at an exciting time for VDC as the company has seen successful growth, particularly over the past 2 years, which is expected to continue throughout 2019. Cain and Adam are no strangers to VDC, with Cain having being with us since 2016 and Adam since 2000.
Cain is an experienced sales manager and has a strong background in audio technology, with a BSc in Audio and Music Tech from the University of the West of England. After starting out as a Relationship Development Manager, Cain soon began managing the team as Head of UK sales. UK sales has seen some changes over the last 18 months, through the rearranging and expansion of the team. Cain was able to take on the challenge and steer the department to successful growth. In his new position Cain will continue to promote the development of UK sales by implementing new strategic initiatives across the department. Cain will also take control of the larger key domestic accounts. With his background in music technology and experience in sales, it is no doubt he will make a great addition to the board of directors.
Cain is looking forward to “continuing to see the UK Sales team grow under the management of Will Stead (new UK sales manager), and exploring new avenues and industries which we may not have typically worked in before”. He continues: “It’s great to be able to expand my role. The UK market is key for VDC and there’s a lot of exciting projects in the pipeline”.
Adam has dabbled in his fair share of departments at VDC. He began working as a warehouseman and progressed through the ranks from Technical Assistant to Technical Supervisor and in 2014, Technical Manager. Most recently Adam filled the role of Technical and Export Consultant where he drastically changed the face of VDC’s export world. Adam was responsible for the department for 2 years and managed to achieve 45% growth for export in 2018 alone. With his extensive experience at VDC, Adam will be a great asset to the board of directors. His appointment to this role will enable VDC to facilitate the continual growth that is expected to be seen both in export and company-wide.
Adams priority as Export Director is to “get around the globe and have chance to meet with all our export clients”. A big part of the success export has seen was due to Adam and Niall’s commitment to meeting face-to-face with clients and building relationships with them. Adam comments: “I can’t wait to meet with those I haven’t already. When we travel to meet clients, it really does feel like we’re strengthening the VDC family”.
The entire VDC team wish Adam and Cain the best of luck and every success in their new roles.
