Situated in North London, the Roundhouse is a multifunctional performance space, playing host to a wide variety of live performances including music, circus and spoken word. The Grade II listed building has been providing a stage to performance artists for over 50 years and as well as welcoming major names such as Robert Plant, Happy Mondays and the Royal Shakespeare Company, the venue also encourages emerging talent, by offering artists the opportunity to engage with the arts through music, media and performance projects.
In addition, The Roundhouse’s in-house production company offers a range of services spanning live online broadcast and original content creation.
With such an extensive and varied workload, it is essential that the venue has a strong, reliable audio infrastructure and when Autograph Sales & Installations were called upon to ensure this, they once again turned to VDC Trading.
VDC supplied Van Damme Tourlight Fibre Optic Cabling, terminated with Neutrik OpticalCON connectors onsite by their Neutrik approved Class A Coca Assemblers, on site in Kings Cross to provide 32 input/40 output channels as part of the DiGiCo SD10 installation.
The result is an audio setup that will ensure the venue remains at the forefront of live productions for some time to come.
Cain Cookson, Senior Relationship Development Manager at VDC Trading, said: “It is always a pleasure to work with Autograph, particularly on a venue as prestigious as the Roundhouse. With such a varied programme of activities, the Roundhouse needed a reliable, effective solution and we were very happy to be able to deliver this.”
